If these walls could talk, what stories of love and hope they would tell! Read a few below, and know that we, at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Florida, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. "I arrived at the Ronald McDonald House in July due to the fact that my son was born prematurely and unable to go home with me at the time I was discharged from the hospital. I didn't realize there was such a place as this! Living over 40 miles from Fort Myers, I had no idea how I would be able to make it to the hospital to see my son each day, how my husband would be able to continue working (we only have one car), how I would be able to eat and so on. I could not afford a hotel nor a car rental and that's when a nurse told me about the House. It's now seven weeks later and I am preparing to take my HEALTHY little boy home! This House and it's peope have provided me a place to sleep, bathe, eat and relax while only being a five minute walk from my hospitalized son. Staying here has allowed me to spend my days with my child while learning to care for him during the "ups and downs" that all preemies and their families experience. THANK YOU RONALD McDONALD HOUSE! May God continually bless this House!" ~ Sami "My sister suffers from leukemia and this is her second hospitalization in the last several weeks. Because of Ronald McDonald House our entire family is able to visit with her on a daily basis. We don’t know when she will be coming home, but, we believe she will come home." ~ Heather "My baby was born one month early and was abnormally small. We’ve been here for over a month and I get all choked up when I think of how great Ronald McDonald House has been to me. I see the donation boxes (at McDonald’s restaurants) in a different light now and I am spreading the good word on your charity." ~ Manuel "I am thankful that God has granted my Christmas wish of bringing my baby home! My daughter was born in November and she had no esophagus! She was transported to HealthPark, because without treatment, we knew she would not live. It’s been a little over four weeks, my daughter is doing great and we are going home! This was a long and painful road, but Ronald McDonald House helped to make the journey much more bearable." ~ Sandra "I would like to thank everyone who has played a role in me taking my son, Jaden, home! What a wonderful day this is. I appreciate all the warm smiles and laughs throughout the course of my stay. God will bless each of you for the kindness you have extended to me and my family. This truly was my 'home-away-from-home.' Words cannot express how appreciative I am. May God continue to keep His hands over the mission and vision of this House and over every volunteer and staff member." ~ Virginia "My family is grateful for your services, support and prayers. Whenever a friend, or family member, asked if we needed something, I said, 'Our needs are being met but you could always donate to the Ronald McDonald House.' I hope, no, I know, another family will find this House as a bearer of abiding hope. I didn't know how we were going to be able to spend time with our son, but because of this House, you made it happen. Thank you!" ~ Irma "Thank You RMHC Staff and Volunteers! I love all that you have done for my family." ~ Amanda "On behalf of my daughter, who resided in your House recently, I wish to make a donation. Sincere gratitude goes out to the volunteers who prepared the 'yummy' meals. A great big 'thank you' to Ronald McDonald House. May God reward you all." ~ Josie "Thank you so very much for allowing me to stay at your beautiful House while my son was in the NICU. I am grateful for the kindness and helpfulness of your staff and volunteers. This House was such a blessing to me and my family during this challenging time. God bless all of you and what you provide to this community!" ~ Linda "I'm sorry that we had to go through this experience to see first hand what the Ronald McDonald House was all about, but, after the dust kinda settles and you step out of the box and look in, we know we couldn't have done it without you! What an outstanding organization. Love y'all and we're saving our tabs!" ~ Wendy "We would like to thank everyone at the House for everything they have done. Everyone welcomed us into the House and, during his hospitalization, we were able to spend most of our time with our son. He is now doing great and you are still helping us. Because of you, he had a great Christmas with great gifts! He loves everything! Thank you again! We will keep all of you in our hearts and we continue to tell everyone what a great charity you are! Hope to see you soon." ~ The Lopez Family "I wanted to say, 'thank you so much,' for helping me and my family while my daughter spent five days in the NICU. I never knew such charity existed. I always thought that parents were pretty much put to the wayside when their kids were in the hospital. You proved to me that there is someone who cares about us parents. Thank you again for everything you did for us. Our daughter is doing great here at home!" ~ Danielle
